This film was inspired by the idea of walking away from a lifelong passion or competitive sport. That feeling of losing passion can be comparable to death, and with that I was driven by the concept of this loss acting as a person's “first death.” The camera movement and visual choices symbolize the visceral pain of losing a passion, a feeling comparable to ripping out your own heart.
